How to Make A Website

Do you want to make a website? Creating your own website is a fairly simple task. Technology has evolved to the point where almost anyone can make a website regardless of technological know-how.

To get started, first you will need to register a domain name.

A domain name is anything from a .com, .net, .org, etc. It is used to identify your unique location on the web.

Create Web Pages

The next step is to start creating web pages. The pages for your site will be written in a simple language called HTML (hypertext markup language). Don't worry; it isn't very difficult!

Upload Files

Next, you will need to upload the files to your website host. In order to accomplish this, you will need an FTP (file transfer protocol) client. Webmasters.am recommends:

The homepage for your site should be named "index.html"

Type in your domain name to your web browser at yourname.com (or .net, .org, etc. depending on the domain name you registered) and see your site in action!
